About The Position

Technical Associates is seeking a Mechanical Designer to work on projects for industrial clients. The designer will work closely with our clients on a daily basis, under the direction of multiple engineers and project managers. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering project execution, strong working knowledge of manufacturing and process plant environments, and be fully proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD. The position requires local travel to client sites for meetings, field inspections, and startup, with mileage to/from the office reimbursed.

Requirements

• 5 years of industrial mechanical design experience.
• Tech School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of basic engineering technology and manufacturing techniques.
• Proficiency in both 2D and 3D drawings.
• Familiarity with 3D Laser equipment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated and able to take direction from supervising engineer.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in machine design or machine modifications.
• Experience with conveyors and mechanical systems design (pumps/piping, fans/duct).
• Experience in piping design, P&IDs, and equipment layouts.
• Solid Works or AutoCAD Inventor proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field data collection in collaboration with project engineers.
• Generate construction drawings based on measurements and sketches.
• Work on-site in industrial facilities, adapting to a wide temperature range.
