The Mechanical Design Engineer will work with engineering team in producing CAD drawings for polymer makedown systems and associated design components.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing AutoCAD systems to perform and manage design work.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, consistent, and detail-oriented work.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to regular attendance and punctuality in alignment with established work schedules.
  • Ability to follow direction from supervisors and execute tasks accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Engineers and Designers in coordinating the generation of accurate, presentable engineering drawings from redlines or other design schematics provided.
  • Work with external parties (clients, vendors, consultants) to coordinate all project specific CAD related work and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Coordinate work-load with CAD Drafters and/or Engineers as needed.
  • Ensure and ensure the implementation and ongoing adherence to company CAD standards.
  • Create diagrams, P&ID’s, PFDs, GA’s, Mounting details, Structural drawings, Mechanical detail drawings including section-cuts, cross-sections, and schedules in AutoCAD from redlines provided by Engineers and Designers.
  • Serve as lead designer for complex projects.
  • Present designs in order to ensure design intent is achieved and make revisions as necessary. This includes holding model review meetings and documenting the required updates.
  • Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude and offer extensive problem solving skillset.
  • Effectively interface with, facilities, civil, electrical, chemical, and mechanical engineering personnel as well as with customers and customer engineering firms.
  • The ability to direct and manage multiple projects through direct reports from conception to successful on-time completion and within budget is critical.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, regulations, product safety standards, and a diverse array of industry specific processes to customize make-down equipment.
  • Understand the safe handling, and health and safety policies and regulatory documents for products in our markets. Ensure design complies with all safety practices and environmental regulations applicable to the customer site.
