About The Position

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical designs for plating and anodizing systems, translating conceptual ideas into detailed, manufacturable solutions. This role ensures equipment meets customer requirements, engineering standards, and safety regulations, while supporting sales, installation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor required.
  • Proficiency in mechanical system design for industrial equipment.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in industrial equipment or system design preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full mechanical system design using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, including layouts, floor plans, detailed components, piping diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • Ensure all designs comply with customer specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare sales drawings and conceptual layouts to support the Sales team.
  • Design standard and custom polypro plating barrels and stainless-steel phosphate barrels; maintain standard barrel drawings.
  • Support installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and follow-up activities at customer sites.
  • Recommend improvements to mechanical designs and stay current with AutoCAD and Inventor features.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs.
