WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE: Joining a high growth R&D Engineering team that is focused on growth and development within our extensive Data Solutions product line! Develop designs and documentation for new and existing products by creating 3D models, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and other documentation to fully define product for manufacture and ensure specifications are met. Work will include projects with significant scope and/or complexity and minimal supervision from engineers and supervisors. Research specifications and identify purchased components for use in designs. Manage both small and larger scale projects independently. Direct and assist with the building of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot builds. Assist in the development of engineering, drafting and release standards. Perform tolerance stack analysis of complex assemblies and drawings prior to release of documentation. Participate in the product development process, including design brainstorming and voice of customer activity. Initiate/prepare Engineering Change Order (ECO) documentation, including the development of BOM’s. Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are accurate as represented.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree in drafting or design preferred.
  • Ideally 5+ years of mechanical experience in drafting/design.
  • Thorough knowledge of sheet metal design.
  • Experience using SolidWorks required.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical design drafting practices.
  • Capable of performing basic design calculations (example: tolerance stacks, press fits, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge in use and application of GD&T.
  • Ability to independently generate complex designs and assemblies.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical or refrigeration for designing, assisting and directing the build of components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of relative manufacturing processes, including brazing/welding of copper, stainless steel highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ENOVIA PLM system and JD Edwards a plus.
  • Knowledge of tubing, manifold designs for fluids, and plastic part design a plus.
