About the position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and be proficient in various CAD software applications. This role involves creating detailed designs of custom sheet metal components and specifications for mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce detailed mechanical designs using CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Create 2D and 3D models, drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals.
• Assist in the build process by providing support during prototype development and testing phases.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices throughout the design process.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solidedge, or Inventor.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of sheet metal, aluminum, steel, and weldments.
• Experience in creating detailed drafts for mechanical systems and components.
• Familiarity with 2D animation techniques to enhance design presentations.
• Ability to perform GD&T on designs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within a team environment.
