About The Position

The Mechanical Designer at Southern Erectors Inc. is responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings and designs for industrial air systems, particularly in the pulp and paper industry. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, both in 2D and preferably 3D modeling, to generate shop fabrication and field erection drawings. The designer will work closely with engineers to ensure accurate specifications and project scopes are met, while also being involved in checking drawings produced by others. Some travel is required for field measurements and project deadlines.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D design is required.
• Experience in AutoCAD 3D modeling is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand engineering specifications and project scopes.
• Clear communication skills in English.
• Valid Driver's License and eligibility to work in the United States.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
• Experience in the pulp and paper industry.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings for mechanical componentry and industrial air systems.
