About The Position

The Mechanical Designer Intern position requires project organizational skills and the ability to quickly master new concepts and solve problems with relevant experience designing and developing mechanical components and systems. The position will be to design and specify components and assemblies of Mechanical/Electrical Systems.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical design or engineering.
  • Must be proficient in Solidworks Design Software.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Willingness to work with a team.
  • Has a passion for learning and exploring new ideas.
  • Positive work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the engineering and cross-functional teams to: Plan the project’s scope and design.
  • Using Solidworks and PDM to design components and assemblies.
  • Make changes to current assemblies.
  • Using best specification practices create drawings for components.
  • Utilizing a Product Data Management (PDM) system to process and store documentation.
  • Enter Data of product changes in ECO system.
  • Miscellaneous Engineering Change Order (ECO) and ERP System Updates.
  • Provide design support for existing and modified products under the direction of mechanical engineers.
  • Participate in the development of processes and procedures that support the engineering team.
  • Learn and monitor the status of projects you are working on to standard work.
