About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining CAD, product data management, and ERP/MRP systems. You will assist with designing and testing products and prototypes to meet desired expectations, document designs for product support, and generate bills of materials (BOM) for new products and sub-assemblies. You will also interface with other departments to ensure effective communication of new product development and continuing engineering activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Design or CAD 2 year degree/certification.
  • 2 years of mechanical design experience in the manufacturing of mechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, be highly motivated, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and execute process improvements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, organizational, training, and PC skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Understanding of parts library and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of automation in mechanical design.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain CAD, product data management, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Assist in designing and testing products and prototypes to achieve desired expectations.
  • Document designs for product support and efficient development of successive product generations.
  • Generate bill of materials (BOM) for new products and sub-assemblies or options as well as maintaining existing products.
  • Interface with other company departments to ensure effective communications of new product development and continuing engineering activities.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements and cost reductions.
  • Participate in workflows and implement design changes.
  • Execute work tasks in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
