PURVIS has an immediate full-time position open for a entry-mid level Mechanical Designer/Drafter with SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience. The Mechanical Designer/Drafter will be a member of the engineering design/drafting team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and certificate in drafting.
• 2 - 5 years professional experience
• Ability to work independently, while requiring little rework.
• Ability to review engineering drawings and understand required changes.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
• Experience with Creo, Autodesk Inventor or other 3D packages is a plus.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) preferred.
• Knowledge of existing submarine systems, Military Specifications, and previous defense industry is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support U.S Navy system designs and development.
• Review government furnished information (GFI) and engineering drawing redlines to incorporate into drawing packages as required.
• Create, update and maintain mechanical drawing packages using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Drawing packages may include production drawings, circuit card assemblies, parts Lists, schematic diagrams, assembly and test fixture drawings.
• Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with standards and practices.
