About The Position

Eaton is seeking a dynamic Technical Leader to drive innovation, quality, and performance within our Switchboard Mechanical Engineering Team. This role is your opportunity to lead cutting-edge design and engineering efforts that power our hyperscale and base business customers. The manager provides technical expertise, resolves design-related issues, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency. By managing documentation, supporting cross-functional teams, and facilitating training, they ensure seamless integration of standardized products into production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 year of managing a team

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 years of Custom Order Engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD and 3D modeling software
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of ten (8) years of experience in design and manufacturing processes
  • Minimum of five (3) years of experience with power distribution equipment
  • Design for Six Sigma with examples of practical application
  • Product Life-cycle management systems and their structure
  • Fabrication methods for sheetmetal, plastic, copper, and aluminum
  • UL 50, UL 891, ANSI and NEMA standards
  • Proper bus joint design
  • BidManager, Mapics S/A S400, VISTA, OMS & Design Automation experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive business objectives / improvements impacting product line-wide measures
  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing processes to boost efficiency and reduce cycle time.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and manager, guiding a high-performing team and fostering career growth.
  • Monitor and analyze product warranty and service history trends. Conduct root cause analysis on systemic issues.
  • Build/own COE Engineering processes for activities such as, change requests, design deviations, training, and design guides
  • Product support for vendors, customers, sales, and manufacturing
  • Manage communications with Product Line Engineering, BidMan Team, AE's, and product management
  • Take ownership of engineering BOM of ETO (engineer to order) orders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve factory and field service challenges with agility and precision.
