About The Position

As part of the Sensors team based in Burnsville, Minnesota, the Mechanical Engineer Intern will work in the Air Data Sensors (ADS) design team and be responsible for working on integrated product teams to develop new, advanced air data sensors products while also supporting existing products in production. The Mechanical Intern will be part of an integrated research and development team focused on developing new sensor technology. The intern must have a broad interest in the field of engineering. You will be engaged in new and existing product design, including but not limited to the design of sensor packaging, prototype build/test activities, design for manufacturing, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Design Engineers in areas such as mechanical CAD design, thermal analysis, material science, system testing, data collection, and analyzing test data.
  • Participate in design decision making and lab prototype testing.
  • Work fluidly within multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams executing projects according to plan.
