About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer focusing on Laser Systems to join our dynamic team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery used in cutting-edge laser systems. This role involves applying engineering principles to design innovative products, ensuring they meet high-performance standards, and contributing to the advancement of laser technology.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop laser systems and mechanical components for laser systems including engines, instruments, controls, robots, and other machinery.
• Conduct thorough testing and analysis of mechanical designs to ensure functionality, durability, and performance meet or exceed specified requirements. Optimize designs for efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee the fabrication and prototyping of mechanical components. Provide guidance to ensure precision and adherence to design specifications.
• Support the installation and application of mechanical products in laser systems. Work closely with field teams to troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues.
• Assist in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mechanical components as needed. Develop strategies to enhance the longevity and performance of existing systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Min 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally with a focus on lasers or a related field.
• Familiarity with a variety of mechanical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures related to laser systems.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to solve complex engineering problems, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Exhibit a wide degree of creativity and latitude in approaching design challenges. Contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions in the laser industry.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Provide clear and concise documentation of design processes and outcomes.
• Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks and adapt to evolving project requirements and technologies.
