We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on the design and development of custom mechanical solutions for electrical industrial products, tailored to meet unique customer specifications and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment.

  • Design custom mechanical components and assemblies for electrical enclosures, switchgear, control panels, and related industrial products.
  • Collaborate with application design engineers, customer service, project managers, and manufacturing teams to develop feasible and cost-effective solutions.
  • Interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, and industry standards to create detailed 3D models and engineering documentation.
  • Generate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable safety codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., UL, NEMA, IEC).
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation of custom designs.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support during production and assist in resolving design-related issues.
  • Familiarity with electrical enclosure design and integration is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in an industrial or electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of thermal management, vibration analysis, and structural integrity.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change processes.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
