About The Position

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing mechanical systems for innovative high speed material handling equipment with ongoing troubleshooting, improvement to production processes, development and integration of new technologies, while supporting electrical engineering, software, and maintenance teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience as a mechanical design engineer or similar role
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and CAD software
• Fundamental understanding of material strengths, dynamics, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools such as wrenches, drills, saws, etc

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems, equipment, and fixtures
• Integrate new technologies into equipment and processes
• Analyze product flow and perform continuous improvement activities for quality and throughput
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and basic electrical troubleshooting
• Work with electrical and software teams to integrate with the mechanical systems
• Develop, document, and follow production processes
• Support maintenance and operations with repairs and redesigns to meet production goals
• Other duties as assigned
