Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer located in Columbia, SC. Reporting to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager the Mechanical Design Engineer What a typical day looks like: Apply complex design practices and procedures to assigned program areas to create custom tooling, jigs and fixtures with standard processes such as CNC milling/turning and Additive Manufacturing Create and release detailed drawings and interface with machine shop for quote and completion Manage sourcing and deliveries from suppliers for fabrication of tools/fixtures and equipment Work with other members of the development team to support manufacturing tooling design initiatives Assist in generating production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectations Support design improvements that enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costs Provide complex technical support to manufacturing floor to enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costs Perform Tolerance Analysis and make recommendations Project Management on multiple customer accounts.

Requirements

5+ years of 3D CAD Experience (Solidworks CSWP preferred)
Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
Self-motivated, high energy and strong time management skills
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others
Demonstrated leadership skills and team orientation
Drawing creation and release experience

3D Printing Experience
Manual or CNC Milling/Lathe Experience
Introductory Understanding of GD&T / Dimensional Management

Responsibilities
