The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for researching and designing components and mechanical systems. This role involves using CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) equipment to create or modify model files, collaborating with suppliers and engineers across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic disciplines, and directing the work of drafters, illustrators, layout personnel, and technicians. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or closely related engineering field.
  • Engineer II-Minimum 3-4 years experience in a product design or related engineering role.
  • Engineer III - Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a product design or related engineering role.
  • Experience in material specifications for various design applications by applying metallurgical expertise.
  • Experience with CAD software & solid modeling.
  • Experience regarding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods and tolerance stack analysis.
  • Design experience regarding machining, turning, molding, casting, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Interest in mobile equipment design and operation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electrical and/or robotic systems

Responsibilities

  • Design responsibilities including product cost, timing, durability, safety, performance, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Responsible for the analysis, or oversight of the analysis, of proposed engineering designs using calculations, testing, data acquisition and processing, computer simulation methods or other techniques as needed.
  • Directs and participates in the construction and testing of prototypes to evaluate product design and functionality.
  • Solicits and evaluates input from various sources to meet project and customer requirements and ensure manufacturability.
  • Reviews product designs for compliance with standard engineering practices, company and industry standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
  • Creates and maintains essential design information and documentation, including models, drafts, schematics, and purchased part documentation, as well as supporting technical publications.
  • Assists the Test department in developing and following test plans.

  • Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $78600- $113000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
