About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The NPD Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and launching new products, from concept through production. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, quality, and marketing, to ensure that new products meet performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in product development or engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks.
Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing and product assembly.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

Driveworks experience is a plus.
Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is highly desirable.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Product Design and Development: Lead and contribute to the design and development of new products, ensuring they meet customer needs, safety standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
Develop detailed product specifications, 3D models, and engineering drawings using Solidworks CAD software.
Perform simulations, prototyping, and testing to validate design concepts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into the production line.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for product prototypes and production.
Act as a liaison between engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
Project Management: Manage the complete product development lifecycle from ideation, prototyping, testing, and iteration to production launch.
Create and maintain project timelines, ensuring that product development goals are met on time and within budget.
Participate in regular design reviews and project updates with stakeholders.
Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing of new products to ensure they meet design and performance specifications, including functional, environmental, and durability tests.
Analyze and interpret test data, making necessary adjustments to designs as needed.
Ensure that products meet regulatory and quality standards.
Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement continuous improvements in product design and manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Stay up-to-date on the latest technological advancements, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends.
