About The Position

The Opportunity Hitachi Energy is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer through the Power2 Engineering Development Program . This 24-month training initiative offers a comprehensive learning experience that includes technical trainings, peer mentoring, and hands-on training. The role will be based in either Crystal Springs, MS or Raleigh, NC . As part of the program, you’ll gain end-to-end expertise in Power Transformer design , supporting the manufacturing operations at our Crystal Springs, Mississippi facility. This program offers accelerated professional growth through technical training and diverse project assignments. You'll gain comprehensive knowledge of engineering mechanical CAD/CREO design This role offers you the chance to work on cutting-edge mechanical designs for small power transformers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the development of high-quality, efficient, and reliable transformers. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of modeling and drafting experience (internships and co-ops considered).
  • Work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Proficiency in CAD/Creo and 3D modeling tools.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in design engineering of power products preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare mechanical designs and develop project based small power transformers' drawings for manufacturing.
  • Utilize advanced CAD/Creo software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Ensure designs meet engineering quality standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
  • Conduct peer reviews and design reviews.
  • Evaluate and apply standard techniques for transformer layout design.
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers to generate manufacturing drawings.
  • Adhere to safety standards and mitigate potential risks.
