Körber Technologies, Inc., a leading Sales and Service company supporting the North American tobacco industry, is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, the Mechanical Design Engineer will produce high-quality technical mechanical documentation suitable for fabrication, assembly, testing, and field service. The design and documentation will meet Körber Technologies’ standardization and cost objectives, ensuring high quality, low cost, and full compliance with customer specifications, as well as marketing and corporate requirements.

  • Apply your technical expertise in materials, manufacturing, quality, and equipment design to support our projects
  • Develop, design, and test machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Investigate and implement new components for both existing and new products, including concept development, detailed design, analysis, engineering drawings, BOM creation, and ECO management
  • Collaborate with Assembly, Service, and Sales teams to address technical product discussions and ensure seamless project execution
  • Support the build and commissioning of new machinery, resolving inquiries from Fabrication and Assembly related to mechanical design
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing personnel for implementing new or revised components
  • Evaluate and select mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components such as gears, bearings, actuators, cylinders, valves, and sensors
  • Engage with customers to understand and meet project requirements
  • Complete all necessary documentation for the release of new and revised products
  • Conduct analysis and testing of prototype equipment
  • Maintain cost control by coordinating with the accounting team
  • Provide field service and assembly teams with technical support for machine control challenges
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in mechanical engineering
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machinery design
  • Strong creative abilities with the capacity to visualize mechanical concepts and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling software (Siemens NX preferred), MS Office
  • experience with SAP is a plus
