About The Position

Our Business Unit Lighting and Imaging offers smart solutions for light delivery and image transmission in demanding environments — from medical devices, industrial, and safety applications to aviation and automotive. With manufacturing sites in Europe and North America, and supported by SCHOTT’s global sales network, we are a leading supplier of high-quality fiber optic and LED components. Your Contribution Develop and design new products, procedures and methods for customer applications, transfers to manufacturing and provide on-going manufacturing support. Conceptualize products from drawings, sketches or verbal instructions to develop and design products and improve existing products and assembly procedures. Develop, maintain, and track project plans and schedules with associated costs. Work directly with customers and through Sales department regarding product development, customer requirements and manufacturing techniques. Transfer new product information to the manufacturing department and train manufacturing and quality personnel in new techniques. Provide technical support to manufacturing and sales. Maintain Project documentation including design updates, print changes, routers, material lists, tooling, schedules, and costs. Maintain engineering documentation and provide documentation to sales for approval of customers. Provide support to Marketing for new product introduction, logistics for planning and purchasing and to manufacturing for new products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Science equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in previous Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Project planning, quoting, and cost estimation experience.
• Sufficient technical knowledge to advance company's products to meet changing market needs.
• Strong analytical ability and a disciplined problem-solving approach.
• Computer proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office software.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations.
• Self-motivated and results oriented.
• Able and willing to work with others on a team.
• Ability to support department and corporate policies and goals.
• Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.
