About The Position

Support the Machinery business. Design mechanical and systems and build prototypes to prove concepts. Design coordinated motion systems and FE modeling. Perform engineering calculations such as torque, horsepower, strength, and other general engineering calculations. Create and revise detailed drawings and bill of materials. Ensure component introduction and change management activities are effectively completed and communicated. Prepare test procedures and protocols for technicians. Document test results and generate high level summary reports. Work with others outside of engineering i.e. manufacturing, purchasing, vendors. Review product design for compliance with safety standards, such as OSHA and ANSI.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering field.
  • Must have 1 year of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or a related engineering role in mechanical development.
  • The 1 year of experience must include experience with: SolidWorks 3D and Finite Element (FE) modeling software; SolidWorks 3D modeling software for mechanical design; SolidWorks FE software to test designs before prototyping; 3D part printing; document communications and track cost; mechanical design; mechanical/electrical systems; drafting and dimensioning standards; products and manufacturing machines to improve product output; designing coordinated motion systems; troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems; and testing engineering, including preparation of test procedures and protocols.
