Our SDG team, located in the quaint, Buffalo, NY suburb of East Aurora, is eager to welcome a new Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on creativity and innovation. This role will focus on mechanical design, modeling stress/fatigue analysis for various programs/projects. You will report directly to the Staff Engineering Manager and enjoy an on-site/collaborative working environment with typical working hours being M-F from 8am - 4:30pm.

  • Dream up and design new mechanical systems and elevate existing designs to new heights
  • Ensure every mechanical component works seamlessly and meets our high-quality standards
  • Get involved early in the creative process, collaborating on complex product concepts and tailor-made customer solutions
  • Contribute to the development of the team and the knowledge within the mechanical design engineering field.
  • Partner with colleagues who assemble and test your designs to perfection
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Skilled in 3D CAD software (experience with Siemens NX or Solidworks is a bonus!)
  • Have experience in FEM analysis tools like NX Advanced Simulation, Pro/Mechanica Structure, or Ansys? Even better!
  • Fascinated by mechanical design and eager to explore modeling and stress/fatigue analysis
  • Self-driven and ready to take ownership of your projects
  • Due to federal contract obligations, applicants must be able to demonstrate they are either a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
