About The Position

You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the Canopy Design Team which is responsible for delivering innovative canopy systems for advanced aircraft. What You Will Be Doing As the Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for advancing the design, analysis, and integration of aircraft canopy systems, collaborating closely with program, manufacturing, and supplier partners. Your responsibilities will include: Develop, test, and validate canopy system designs. Create and modify 3‑D models, assemblies, and installations for primary and secondary structures. Generate system requirements, interface drawings, performance specifications, and trade studies. Provide technical engineering support for manufacturing, installation, and testing at Lockheed Martin and supplier facilities. Conduct trade studies and evaluate alternatives to optimize form, fit, and function of canopy systems. Who You Are An experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in aerospace canopy design, proficient in 3‑D modeling, trade‑study analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration. You are detail‑oriented, innovative, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment where impact matters. Requirements

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical; Civil Engineers will also be considered
  • Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5
  • Experience with metallic and composite design
  • Experience with Mechanisms Design to include the usage of Kinematics and Rigging Procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
