About The Position
Wolfspeed's SiC Epitaxy R&D team is looking for an early career mechanical engineer with interest in design of higher temperature components needed to grow high quality SiC thin films utilized in next generation power devices. The position involves supporting the team through ownership of parts design for SiC epitaxy systems, reviewing failure mechanisms to help drive process improvement and equipment uptime, generating CAD designs for modeling and practical test environments, and tracking parts from CAD to test to eventual production qualification. The role requires effective written and verbal communication to present results to R&D and Production teams, interfacing with a broad range of vendors, operators, technicians, and other technical staff across Production and R&D teams in a community of shared resources, and driving hardware improvement through rigorous project management.
