As a Mechanical Design Engineer at LC Staffing, you will play a pivotal role in the engineering process for a leading provider of communication and response products. Your primary responsibility will be to take designs from concept through to production, ensuring that parts and assemblies are accurately created and compiled into complete production-ready 3D models and 2D drawings. This position requires a commitment to maintaining accuracy and completeness throughout all levels of design, meeting or exceeding the company's standards of excellence. In this role, you will utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze parts, perform stress calculations, and create tests to verify results. You will document your analyses and make necessary changes to optimize designs. Additionally, you will be responsible for researching and understanding external standards such as MI, RVIA code, and SAE, ensuring that all analyses, documentation, and drawings required for production are completed within established time frames agreed upon by the Operations team. Collaboration is key in this position; you will communicate with other engineers, project management, and production leads to identify and implement improvement opportunities at both the project and company levels. You will also engage with vendors and clients to troubleshoot designs, gather information on new designs, and obtain specifications, drawings, and models of components. Furthermore, you will analyze proposed change orders, assessing their impact on the project's original design parameters, timeline, budget, and engineering time for completion. You will be expected to propagate any downstream revisions to analyses, documentation, and drawings in a timely manner. Limited travel may be required as part of this role.
