About The Position
M/E Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Schenectady, NY. In this role, the Mechanical Design Engineer will perform assignments aimed at developing their skills as a Project Engineer or Design Engineer. The successful candidate will utilize engineering principles and standard designs to create project designs and layouts. Working closely with Senior Engineers, Project Engineers, Group Managers, Partners, Associates, and Principals, the engineer will independently execute assignments after receiving general instructions regarding expected outcomes. Guidance will be provided for unusual problems, and supervisory approval will be required for developed plans. The Mechanical Design Engineer will assist in the preparation of contract documents and will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and conducting all phases of work on projects of moderate scope. This includes performing conventional engineering work, making engineering calculations, and developing elementary designs based on detailed schematic sketches. Coordination with Senior Engineers, Designers, and Project Engineers will be essential to ensure successful project execution. The engineer will also be expected to perform any other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and the firm.
