You will be the Mechanical Engineering Designer Staff for a Sensors Program. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an Engineering related field
  • The preferred candidate shall have a sound Engineering / Technical foundation and be able to grasp complex issues quickly
  • Skilled at creating and releasing part and assembly models and detailed drawings using Creo (ProEngineer) and Windchill
  • Experience creating drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 standards
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Capable of performing complex, precision optical tolerance analyses of housings, lenses, and beam forming elements.
  • Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic, inclusive, team environment
  • Limited Travel as necessary
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Proficiency of Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Detail and process oriented.
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with optics, sensor, and/or directed energy.
  • Familiarity with integrated optical systems.
  • Familiarity with prototyping and hardware manufacturing, rapid design, and outside vendors for hardware fabrication build is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
  • Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
  • Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
  • Managing drawing releases, answering CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
  • Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits
