You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the ATWS (Advanced Targeting and Weapon Systems) team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a related field.
  • Experience with CREO (Pro/Engineer) and PTC Windchill is required.
  • Experience with creating engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 is required.
  • Basic understanding interpreting and developing GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 is required.
  • Basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills are required.
  • Needs ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.
  • US citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous precision mechanical or opto-mechanical experience is highly desirable.
  • Previous MRB experience in a production setting is desirable.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are desirable.
  • Multiple programs will be worked concurrently and the ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting priorities is desirable.
  • Experience with lab and flight integration and test support is desirable.
  • Occasional overtime and/or travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Developing 2D drawings and 3D models for sensors, windows, and sub assemblies from concept through production release.
  • Performing tolerance stack up analyses, trade studies, and design reviews to ensure fit, function, and cost targets are met.
  • Generating and releasing engineering documentation, change notices, and drawing revisions that improve producibility and affordability.
  • Supporting system level and sub assembly test planning, execution, and data analysis.
  • Managing non conformance (MRB) dispositions and coordinating corrective actions with production and quality teams.
  • Liaising with external suppliers to ensure design intent, quality, and schedule compliance.
  • Presenting design status, risk assessments, and technical solutions at IPT meetings, PDRs, CDRs, DARs, and other customer reviews.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to integrate mechanical, optical, and electronic requirements into a cohesive product.
