Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Experience creating detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment
  • Self‑starter with strong ownership, accountability, and follow‑through
  • Comfortable working directly with manufacturing teams and on the production floor
  • Experience with sheet metal design
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to fabrication, assembly, or product development workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing
  • Collaborate with production teams to refine designs for manufacturability and efficiency
  • Support fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities on the shop floor
  • Drive improvements in product design, documentation, and engineering standards
  • Own designs from concept through production, balancing speed, quality, and practicality
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with evolving requirements
  • Travel frequently to customer locations to support troubleshooting and project needs
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Brooklyn Center, New Hope, Fridley, and Coon Rapids, and the greater Greater Minneapolis metro
