About The Position

This role within the Low Voltage Distribution Team focuses on solving complex engineering challenges to push the boundaries of electrical and thermal performance, cost efficiency, and delivery timelines. Collaborating closely with electrical engineers, firmware engineers, and manufacturing engineers, the position involves designing and developing cutting-edge mechanical components and technologies that drive unparalleled performance in vehicles and energy storage products. The role demands strong creativity, rigorous first-principles thinking, and multidisciplinary skills to achieve innovative solutions. Opportunities are available at multiple seniority levels based on experience

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering within product design and manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, stamping, and extrusion
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • CATIA V5 experience highly valued but not required

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components and mechanisms for electrical connections, conductors, and assembly integration
  • Develop innovative technologies and manufacturing techniques for enhanced performance
  • Conduct thermal and structural modeling of components and systems for optimization
  • Build prototypes and validate functionality through lab testing and real-world applications
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and PCBA designers to integrate components into electro-mechanical systems
  • Partner with reliability engineers to ensure design robustness and longevity
  • Work with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to transition concepts into high-volume production
