We're growing fast in Connersville, and we're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to help shape the future of our centrifugal compressor systems. Play a key role in delivering robust, high-performance products that keep critical industries operating around the globe. In this hands-on role, the Mechanical Design Engineer will collaborate with a talented team of designers and engineers to develop smart, efficient, and reliable solutions. Your insights and decisions will contribute to solving real-world challenges and pushing the boundaries of innovation. You'll help lead and guide the design team to meet both customer requirements and manufacturing goals. This is a great opportunity to apply your engineering judgment and technical expertise to moderately complex mechanical design challenges. You'll support analysis, testing, and integration of mechanical systems-with guidance from senior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Rotating Machinery, or related field)
  • 4+ years of experience in an engineering role of OEM equipment
  • 3+ years of experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other engineering tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Rotating machinery design experience
  • Fluid systems design experience
  • Knowledgeable with Solidworks & ePDM, or equivalent
  • Basic AutoCAD 2D/3D and FEA knowledge
  • Experience with project management and lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Perform Engineering design calculations in support of product design requirements
  • Communicate product design requirements to the Designer Team and approve drawings, models prepared by the Designer Team prior to release
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives including Cost Out and Standardization
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Test, Aftermarket & Field Service, as required
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
