We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to apply technical expertise with a broad range of mechanical engineering skills to contribute to the rapid development and fielding of autonomous sensor solutions in some of the most challenging environments around the globe to help our sponsors complete their mission!
As a Mechanical Design Engineer for Autonomous Systems you will...

Requirements

• Have a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Have more than 2 years of relevant experience in the defense or aerospace industry with mechanical design using CAD (preferably SolidWorks), with some experience in CFD, FEA (statics, dynamics), and thermal simulations
• Have experience in concept generation, analysis, design, prototyping and testing
• Have experience with the design of ruggedized electronics
• Have demonstrated an ability and willingness to multi-task across several projects and work independently in small teams while meeting quick turnaround demands
• Are willing to work in classified laboratories and can travel around the world to conduct field testing (approximately 15% of your time)
• Interact effectively with team members of different experience levels and backgrounds, including leadership of teams and projects
• Work with vendors of COTS equipment to meet demanding delivery schedules
• Have knowledge of design for manufacturing optimization using additive and subtractive fabrication methods
• Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

• Have a M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Have more than 3 years of relevant experience in the defense or aerospace
• Have applied knowledge of Additive Manufacturing processes, subtractive machine processes, injection molding, casting, and fiberglass or carbon fiber layup and design methodologies
• Have demonstrated technical or project management leadership
• Possess understanding of government/military contracting procedures, standards and specifications
• Possess an active DoD Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams from concept definition through fielding of ruggedized custom sensor systems
• Analyze performance of systems for structural, thermal, fluids, and vibration considerations
• Conduct laboratory and field testing to verify requirements are met
• Specify, identify, and integrate commercial, government and custom parts for the rapid development of systems
• Detail system development, engineering analysis and testing consistent with quality requirements and present information to review teams
