About The Position

Mechanical Control Systems Design Engineer (Experienced or Lead) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking a Mechanical Control Systems Design Engineer (Experienced or Lead) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK . Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Lead Level Engineers. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• 3+ years of experience with mechanical systems.
• 3+ years of experience with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems.
• 3+ years of experience with basic aerodynamics/fluid mechanics principles.
• 1+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables.
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
• An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
• This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

• Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
• Experience performing hydraulic / fluid system analysis, preferably using MATLAB and/or Easy5 software
• 3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
• Experience producing technical reports and presentations
• Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
• Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
• Experience working with cross functional teams
• Experience with Model Based Development tools

Responsibilities

• Experienced (Level 3) Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
• Supports the development, maintenance, or modification of system, component, and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.
• Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Contributes to supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
• Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation.
• Trains others.
• Works under general direction.
• Lead (Level 4) Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems to establish the system design.
• Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements.
• Lead the development, maintenance, or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation.
• Lead technical meetings and planning efforts, presenting technical information to wide range of audiences.
• Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
• Prioritize, delegate, and track performance and documentation of analyses of fluid systems/mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design.
• Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
• Train and coach others.
• Work under minimal direction.
