Hill International is seeking a Mechanical Construction Inspector - Healthcare in Houston, Texas Responsibilities Conduct daily observation of construction work for compliance with approved contract drawings, specifications, Requests for Information (RFI’s), Change Orders, and approved submittals and shop drawings. Issue Observation Reports noting conditions of non-compliance, with proper reference to detailed drawings and specifications sections. Project portfolio: 1 project, average value $10M-$50M. Attend early morning, evening, or after-hours installations (ex: concrete pours) requiring owner representation. Flexible hours required for construction observations. Provide quality control and inspection expertise in the area of architectural and structural systems. Tracks and follows up on NCR’s (Non-Compliance Reports) on PWS (Project Workspace) or Unifier. Prepares reports of inspections on PWS/Unifier. Maintain and organize on-site project documentation, including inspection and test reports, RFI’s, Architect’s Supplemental Instructions (ASI’s) documents, project change control documents on PWS (Project Workspace) or Unifier. Attend Pre-Construction meeting and regular onsite construction meetings. Attend pre-outage planning meetings. Monitor as-builts, punch lists. Review punch lists for above ceiling, open wall and Substantial Completion inspections, and revisit to confirm completion of deficiencies on PWS (Project Workspace). Stay current in Codes and Regulations applicable to design and construction, including International Building Codes, NFPA 101, TDLR, OSHA, ADA, ASHRAE 90.1, SWPPP and any special requirements of the building type (e.g., healthcare, research labs, special campus project types etc.). Interface with MDA Sr Inspector and provide support to users and campus operations, architects, engineers, contractors, utilities, regulatory agencies to assist with resolution of conflicts as directed. Qualifications 10 – 15 years of experience. Experience as a mechanical and/or plumbing foreman. Experience in healthcare and/or research projects is preferred, but not required. ICC Certified (by discipline – mechanical, plumbing, and electrical) is preferred, but not required.
