Wood is pipelining for new upcoming projects in all disciplines, with locations in the US and Alaska. The Mechanical Commissioning Technician position is a specialized working level role within the mechanical commissioning function. Incumbents in this role are responsible for performing a full range of mechanical duties to satisfactorily complete the commissioning of equipment and facilities. This includes a keen awareness of safety protocols and advocacy, as well as the ability to work under general supervision. The technician will walk down systems for mechanical completion, complete mechanical check sheets, and follow commissioning procedures to dynamically test equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise. A full understanding of all applicable policies and work methods associated with assigned duties is essential to commission and maintain mechanical equipment effectively. The key objectives of the job include ensuring personal and team safety awareness throughout all phases of the project, executing Wood's Safety Policies and Procedures, and demonstrating a thorough understanding of mechanical systems. The technician will be expected to perform maintenance and repair work with limited supervision, ensure equipment is fit for purpose, and follow detailed commissioning procedures. Responsibilities also include managing punch lists, coordinating activities with other departments, and establishing positive working relationships with supervision and personnel from other departments. Clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing, is crucial for success in this role.
