Summary The Mechanical & Civil/Structural Engineering Manager will lead and oversee a multidisciplinary team of project engineers and designers responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical, civil, and structural engineering designs for complex industrial projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple engineering disciplines to ensure projects meet design standards, client requirements, and regulatory compliance. The manager will coordinate and supervise engineering and design activities across these disciplines. Responsibilities include guiding and sometimes checking/approving the team through calculations, 3D modeling, layouts, drawing and specification production, and vendor verification processes, while ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets. The position may require direct project involvement in a Project Engineer role or by supporting discipline leads through technical meetings, providing solutions, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The position will also oversee production of product design deliverables (GA’s, calculations, fabrication/shop drawings, etc.) for pump/pipe skids, chemical centers, mix tanks, sumps, and other misc. equipment as required to support Solutions Procurement Managers. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments. Some of the work you will do: Leads, mentors and develops a team of project engineers and drafters/designers across mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines Completes own and/or reviews specifications, calculations, and design deliverables for accuracy and feasibility as needed Relevant engineering calculations, designs include: hydraulic pump/pipe sizing, piping layouts and supports, mechanical equipment layout and sizing, pipe stress analysis, piping specifications, P&ID support, site grading & drainage plans, erosion control, underground utilities, misc. structural steel design (platforms/walkways/utility racks), building plans, structural wind/seismic loads and anchor bolts. Supports the development of engineering standards and design criteria Provides guidance and oversight for team members managing subconsultants; including reviewing subcontract agreements, payment terms, and schedules Coordinate design/drafting resources and applications with other engineering manager(s) as required, including the CAD project templates and setup Allocate resources, manage workloads, and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables Travel may be required to support project needs: primarily in-person critical design reviews with the customer, and on-site construction/start-up activities. Travel may be up to 20%.
