Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years in manufacturing purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and ERP/inventory systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and highly organized with excellent time management.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team and partner across functional areas
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the purchase of MRO materials, indirect supplies, and services for the Austin, MN and Algona, IA plants.
  • Supervise one mechanical storeroom supervisor and two purchasing clerks.
  • Manage mechanical and indirect inventory dollars, inventory turns, and inventory accuracy.
  • Oversee set up of new parts and ensure accurate information pertaining to description, supplier sourcing, price, lead time, asset association, criticality, etc.
  • Work to reduce the total cost of ownership in the purchase of parts and supplies.
  • Work with engineering to ensure parts are associated to bill of materials.
  • Ensure planning and scheduling for the maintenance work is supported through material parts staging.
  • Set goals and manage the collection of data for the mechanical storeroom scorecard.
  • Oversee the Austin plant employee and mechanical storerooms, ensuring efficient, customer‑focused service.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and strong service levels.
  • Become a subject matter expert in EAM, Oracle, DataServ, HDS and HTR.
  • Provide vacation coverage and operational support for the Purchasing Manager as needed.
  • Identify and analyze cost‑reduction opportunities across purchasing and supplier management.
