About The Position

BE&SCO Manufacturing designs and builds industry-leading tortilla, flatbread, and bakery equipment. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanical Assembler to support the production and assembly of our industrial food processing equipment on the manufacturing floor. The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling large industrial equipment, including tortilla ovens, presses, and related machinery, according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment quality, functionality, and on-time production delivery. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • Basic math skills including measurements, fractions, and decimals
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical equipment and subassemblies following blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Install components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices
  • Perform adjustments and alignment to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Participate in first-time production runs and prototype builds
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout assembly processes
  • Test completed equipment using dough products to verify performance and functionality
  • Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or improvement opportunities
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams
  • Cross-train in related assembly functions as needed
  • Assist with training team members when assigned
  • Accurately record labor hours and work order completion in the ERP system
  • Support inventory handling and material tracking activities
  • Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and quality
