About The Position

We specialize in four areas including custom machinery, precision fabrication, automated systems for medical device manufacturing, and contract manufacturing. Keller delivers sophisticated manufacturing solutions for many industries including Engineered Materials, Semiconductors, Robotics, Chemicals, Medical and Life Science, Energy Research, and Industrial Technologies. We are currently seeking to fill the following position for our Charlotte location. Mechanical Assembler We are looking for a highly motivated, well organized, team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Requirements

  • High school or GED required, trade school or other education preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry. Previous machine building experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of performing a variety of mechanical assembly tasks, including but not limited to: using hand and power tools to fasten parts together, drill and tap holes, install dowel pins, take measurements (via tape measure, dial indicator, calibers, and other gauges), install pneumatic fittings and tubing, pipe fitting, and minor rework of parts. Experience setting up and operating metalworking machinery such as Bridgeport mills, bandsaws, grinder machines, and lathes is a plus.
  • Must possess at least beginner level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook), and Adobe Reader.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings, part detail drawings, and pneumatic schematics. Ability to read basic electrical drawings and wiring schematics is a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites (domestic and international) to support projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components according to assembly drawings, work instructions, change orders, and other documentation using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and dimensional measuring tools.
  • Responsible for completing project specific documents such as checkout sheets, test documents, and following project specific work instructions.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting the operation of sub-assemblies and/or machines to verify correct operation and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Mount sensors, cameras, motors, and other electrical devices; install cables and route back to termination points.
  • Work with other technicians, engineers, project managers, and inter-departmental staff to resolve issues.
  • Train and assist new employees as needed.
  • Exercise safe work habits & maintain a clean and safe working area.
  • Display good work ethics and co-operation with management and peers.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned (e.g., making of cable assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies, shipping & receiving, performing light fabrication/machining, etc.).
