The position of Site Mechanical Assembler - Nuclear involves working alongside craft labor crews to complete tasks, identify problems and solutions, and perform quality work checks to ensure products meet quality requirements and customer specifications. Responsibilities include receiving materials, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, reworking equipment, maintaining communication with the project team, and following safety standards.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in welding and fabrication of large assemblies according to AWS D1.1 and D14.1.
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Willingness and ability to work at elevations.
  • Ability to work varied overtime and travel away from home for extended periods.
  • Team oriented, solutions driven, customer focused, and a self-starter.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and BOMs.
  • Understanding and application of OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, ASME, NOG and other industry codes or regulations.
  • Possibility to expand role during non-construction windows.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in industrial electrical/mechanical technology or related field.
  • Vocational/technical training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside craft labor crews to complete tasks and identify problems and solutions.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality requirements and customer specifications.
  • Receive materials arriving on the site to eliminate lost or stolen tools and materials.
  • Unload materials from trucks and place in staging areas, maintaining inventory on materials.
  • Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Identify material defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Organize tools and containers to ensure proper site safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in rigging activities.
  • Maintain strong communication with the project team and Construction Manager/Site Superintendent.
  • Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle (if applicable) and assets in a safe and proper working order.
  • Follow all established quality standards, safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by Construction Manager.
