Position Overview: The Assembler I is responsible for assembling component parts for rail communications equipment. Reports directly to Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader. What your day-to-day will look like: The Assembler I will be responsible for the assembly of component parts with the use of assembly prints and Bill of Materials (BOM). The Assembler I will be trained. Also responsible for:
Requirements
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer skills required
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Problem solving skills
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun
- Work with Quality department to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Wire crimping, stripping, and soldering
- Perform 5S activities and maintain equipment in proper working order, and improve work area cleanliness
- Perform work in a safe and healthy manner; ensuring deviations to standard work instructions that will lead to quality, productivity, or safety problems are immediately identified
- Identify and communicate ideas to team leaders that support improving the team’s performance and the elimination of waste
- Participate in process improvement activities
- Support other assembly teams when required
- Display professional conduct with customers and coworkers
- Attend training sessions as needed or required
