Under direct supervision, the Mechanical Assembler I performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes. This role requires the use of simple hand tools and semi-automatic manufacturing equipment, including tools for welding, cutting, and measurement. The assembler is responsible for ensuring work is completed with high quality workmanship standards and safety, in a timely fashion, and in compliance with all company, city, state, and federal regulations. This is a 1st shift position, Monday-Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential for overtime. Key responsibilities include learning to set up, assemble, and load parts, demonstrating proper use of tools, and basic troubleshooting. The position emphasizes maintaining quality product standards, identifying defects, meeting customer deadlines, and adhering to quality systems. Assemblers will also participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and acquire necessary skills and certifications. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area, participating in cleaning activities, and rotating to different workstations as business needs change are also part of the role. The assembler must report work progress and any failures to meet quality standards to a lead or supervisor, and interpret schematics or technical drawings to follow assembly instructions. Compliance with EH&S policies, wearing appropriate PPE, attending trainings, reporting unsafe practices, and recommending improvements are also required.
