About The Position

Mechanical Assembler -Hydraulics Technician. The Mechanical Assembler – Hydraulics Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, repair and testing hydraulic systems and components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hydraulic assemblies and basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting skills. Work assignments are varied and supervision received is limited, so organizational skills and time management are required. Incumbents work independently or as members of a team installing, servicing or repairing equipment. Areas of required technical knowledge include basic mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics. Incumbents may use both specialized and standard computer applications in the performance of their duties. Work may include handling or maintaining equipment or operation of equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen per government contract regulations
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred and 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in hydraulics
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and fluid power principles
  • Ability to read hydraulic and basic electrical schematics
  • Experience using mechanical hand and power tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and must successfully pass a written aptitude test
  • Position is subject to a drug screen
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to travel for field repair and maintenance
  • Ability to lift to 50lbs.
  • Qualifications GED Machine Assembly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial equipment assembly
  • Knowledge of hydraulic troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with electrical wiring (low/high voltage systems)
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment
  • Forklift certification

Responsibilities

  • Assemble hydraulic components including pumps, valves, manifolds, hoses, and fittings.
  • Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret basic electrical schematics.
  • Install and route hydraulic hoses and tubing.
  • Perform pressure testing and functional testing of hydraulic systems.
  • Assist with electrical wiring of control panels, solenoids, sensors, and motors.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues.
  • Use of small machine tools and hand tools, torque wrenches, crimpers, measuring equipment, soldering, hydraulics and digital multi-meters, building cables, part fabrication.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and document assembly changes, requiring strong organizational abilities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
  • Document assembly and testing results accurately.
