About The Position

The Mechanical Assembler position is a SkillBridge internship opportunity specifically designed for active military personnel transitioning to civilian careers. This role involves working with hand and power tools to assemble and test components for defense technology, contributing to the mission of supporting those who defend the country. The position emphasizes hands-on assembly skills and adherence to quality specifications, providing valuable experience in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience in assembly.
• Strong assembly skills and knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to execute all procedures, processes, and work instructions.
• Must meet quality and quantity production requirements.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DOD secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Factory Logix preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Working from diagrams and drawings to assemble components.
• Using hand and/or power tools and jigs for assembly tasks.
• Conducting continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
• Performing quality inspections on the processing line according to specifications.
• Disassembling, modifying, reworking, reassembling, and testing experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies.
