About The Position

The Mechanical Assembler position at Continental involves operating assembly stations, performing assembly tasks according to instructions, and conducting critical visual inspections. The role requires loading and unloading units, operating mechanical tools, and ensuring cleanliness in the work area. The assembler will also manage work in process and participate in cost reduction activities.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills (SAP-DP1, E-Pull, and Windows, hand held scanners, etc.)
• Ability to work cooperatively with team members
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to support a fast-paced environment with heavy lifting
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates assembly stations as directed and performs assembly according to operator instructions and critical visual inspection requirements.
• Loads and unloads units.
• Operates specific mechanical tools for both part assembly and tear down.
• Stages 'work in process' in assigned location.
• Operates Scan & Pack work stations including performing product changeovers and following packing work instructions.
• Operates Safe Launch packing station.
• Assures cleanliness of parts and work area, cleaning the station at scheduled PM and as needed.
• Understands the impact of scrap and rework costs and supports cost reduction activities.
