The College of Engineering and Technology offers rewarding opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach part-time, face-to-face instruction at our Phoenix campus. If you are highly motivated and passionate about teaching exceptional quality instruction in modern facilities with smaller class sizes, we'd like to hear from you. Course: Mechanical and Plumbing Foundations This course provides a comprehensive overview of the mechanical and plumbing construction industry, focusing on the installation and maintenance of building systems related to plumbing and mechanical components. Students explore a range of services from design to installation and repair, within the context of new construction, renovations, and commercial projects. Key areas include plumbing services, leak detection, repair, new construction plumbing installations, and commercial construction plumbing, with a focus on commercial installations and tenant improvements. The course also examines specialized services such as sewer line cleaning, energy efficiency consulting, and emergency response, as well as MEP services that encompass the design, planning, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within buildings. This course provides a pathway for students to deepen their knowledge and skills in the dynamic field of mechanical and plumbing construction.

Requirements

  • Minimum: BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field with 5-7 years industry experience

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field with 3-5 years' Plumbing industry experience across multiple project areas (commercial, new, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
