About The Position

Falcon's Attractions is an award-winning pioneer in the themed entertainment industry. We specialize in advanced ride and show systems, custom engineering solutions, and standalone products and services that push the boundaries of innovation and storytelling. The Mechanical Analyst is a highly skilled engineer who plays a critical role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex mechanical and structural systems. This role ensures performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards under the direction of a Senior Engineer, Project Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using Ansys for dynamic simulation and analysis, and SolidWorks for 3D modeling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in FEA.
  • Proficiency with Ansys FEA software for simulation and analysis.
  • Experience with SolidWorks for 3D CAD modeling.
  • Strong understanding of solid mechanics, material properties (linear and non-linear), and structural analysis principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate complex simulation results.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for workflow automation.
  • Exposure to other FEA tools (e.g., Abaqus, NASTRAN, FEMAP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in the entertainment sector.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed FEA simulations using Ansys for both static and dynamic systems.
  • Prepare and mesh geometry to enable efficient and accurate analysis.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize computational models to predict system behavior under various operating conditions.
  • Utilize SolidWorks for 3D CAD modeling and design modifications.
  • Interpret and communicate analysis results to design teams and stakeholders; recommend design improvements.
  • Document all work, including analysis plans, technical reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development cycles.
  • Automate repetitive FEA tasks using scripting or custom tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Stay current with advancements in FEA methods and tools; propose new approaches as needed.
  • Support occasional travel for design reviews or product testing, as required.
  • Exercise sound technical judgment and demonstrate independent evaluation, originality, and ingenuity.
  • Develop schedules and estimates for assigned tasks and prepare reports on completed work.
  • Provide support for bid and proposal efforts, including technical writing.
