The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for conducting machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance on a variety of production equipment in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ensure the smooth operation of machinery in the department by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines.
  • Performs mechanical skills including but not limited to electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to sounds to locate cause of trouble.
  • Study blueprints or manuals to determine the correct way to re-install parts.
  • Communicate timeframe for repairs to operators, department supervisors, and/or management.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

  • Troubleshooting - Ability to repair failed products or processes.
  • Safety Awareness-Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety .
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2 plus years of experience in Maintenance within a production environment.
  • LOTO authorized training required upon hire.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics required.
  • Knowledge of general machine shop practice required.
  • Basic PC skills - Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
  • PLC knowledge a plus.
  • Welding experience preferred.
