About The Position

Geoquest USA, Inc. (formerly The Reinforced Earth Company) is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. We perform all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support. Job Description Summary: Geoquest USA is currently seeking a Mechanic for its Waco Precast Facility. The Mechanic will perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to problem assessment, parts replacement, oil changes, and tire rotations. They will log issues encountered and all work performed to invoice correctly. Following successful work completion, the auto mechanic may explain vehicle fixes and suggest future improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of related experience preferred.
• Commercial driver’s license may be required.
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Must be able to work outside in the elements.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicles, which may include the company’s fleet of cars, trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
• Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
• Visits job sites to inspect vehicles.
• Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
