About The Position

In this role, you will perform a variety of highly skilled duties to maintain and/or repair the property of the City using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of related experience with Technical School Training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid state issued driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain Valid Commercial Driver’s Permit – Class B within 3 months of hire.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Dealership or heavy truck shop experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs City vehicles and diesel equipment including garbage trucks, sweepers, scows, dump trucks, vans, pick-up trucks, sedans, boats, motorcycles, and/or various construction equipment.
• Diagnoses and repairs vehicle components such as air conditioning, engine performance, air/hydraulic systems, driveline systems, and emission systems.
• Performs minor fabrication and welding as necessary.
• Assists other technicians.
• Picks up or delivers vehicles and equipment when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
